Pro Tools, I cant hear playback?

So I have absolutely no idea how to record, i am recording audio tracks and choose stereo because in mono the little sound waves don't show up on the screen when i play guitar. I however can not hear the audio recordings i have done despite that I can clearly see that I did record something. What am i doing wrong?
