How do you transfer your videos from your JVC video camera to your Mac cpu?

i have been trying and these are the options they gave me: -playback on pc -create dvd -direct dvd -upload -export to library and -back up. it just puts the pictures on my computer. how can i get it to transfer the videos too? also i always transfer the videos to my laptop because it doesn't work on my main computer. any program i should install? thank you in advance!:)
